Confirmation Cake

My cousin was confirmated last weekend, and I got to do the cake! (Yay! I also got to take pictures). The event was on saturday, so I spend the entire friday in the kitchen making the cakes. I made them as open and closed books, and I ended up being very satisfied with the results, especially the closed book.

It was fun preparing the decorations, I used edible rice paper images, ordered here, and fondant, marcipan, edible foodwriters and edible metallic paint.

The less fun part was after the confirmation, I caught a cold, and am currently not feeling amazing… (more like crap, actually)
